****NEW SHIFT SCHEDULE & MORE HOURS, SEE BELOW****
My name is Tom, and I’m an active man with quadriplegia, who enjoys reading, writing, dining out, listening to music and, among other activities, I love to travel. In support of that, I’m seeking RNs, LPNs or CNAs, and experienced Caregivers to assist me in my home for the following shifts (Open positions are marked in green below. However, applications for other positions listed will be considered for future openings.):
- Monday-Friday: usually 6:00 AM to approx 11:00 AM
- Weekend Mornings: Friday, Saturday & Sunday mornings, usually 6:00 AM to approx 11:00 AM
- Evenings: 3-4 evenings per week, flexible schedule, for 2-4 hours between approximately 4:30 PM and approximately 9:30 PM
These hours will sometimes vary due to my outside activities, so some flexibility in the hours will be a requirement for these positions.
Basic Requirements for All Positions:
Morning shift is for a skilled, licensed RN, LPN or CNA, with duties including range-of-motion exercises; bathing and toileting routines; dressing; assisting with daily workouts, basic gardening, laundry & breakfast cooking.
Evening shift is for an experienced Caregiver with responsibility for shopping, basic dinner preparation and clean-up, assisting with exercises and bedtime routine.
These positions require lifting strength, initiative, a willingness to demonstrate positivity, dependability, strong communication skills and the ability to think creatively.
Past experience with care giving in a health care position, in either a health facility or in a home care situation is preferred. For the evening shifts, however, I am willing to train any applicant who meets all other requirements:
- Drug screening
- Proof of negative Tuberculosis test
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Background check
- Valid AZ Driver’s License – verifiable clean driving record
- Reliable transportation
- Verifiable references related to care-giving with current contact information
Additional Requirements & Duties Specific to Morning Shifts:
Current RN, LPN or CNA license, Caregiver’s or Medical Assistant’s certificate.
Ability and willingness to travel:
- Two to three trips per year, a day’s drive from Phoenix
- One trip, of one to two weeks each summer, further afield
Additional Requirements & Duties Specific to Evening Shifts:
Current CNA license, or Caregiver’s or Medical Assistant’s certificate, or other experience that demonstrates strong interest and aptitude for care giving (Care giving for seniors, or persons with disabilities, or children).
Compensation
Compensation is dependent on qualifications and experience. Hourly pay range:
- Evenings: Starts at $20/hour; $22/hour after training/trial period
- Weekday Mornings: Starts at $22/hour; $25/hour after training/trial period
- Weekend Mornings: Starts at $25/hour; $30/hour after training/trial period
Federal Holiday shifts rotate with other available staff members.
Extra hours may be available, by mutual agreement, doing ancillary tasks that fall outside the normal routine, e.g., focused house cleaning & organization, grocery shopping, next-meal preparation, gardening, laundry.
